My foot had been broken for a year and a half and I was on a knee scooter with no ability to walk. The scale kept going up and my self esteem was going down. I felt helpless.
I broke my foot and tore a ligament December 2018 while snowboarding and ended up getting my sesamoid bone removed which prevented me from walking for a year and half. I had post-surgical depression and gradually gained 45 pounds . I was 187 pounds when I was finally able to walk again and knew I had to start making changes for my mental and physical health. I grew up running 5k races and was on the cross country team in high school but with my foot still being so sensitive, running was just not an option for me. I had to find a low-impact alternative.
